I normally used this time to figure out what we are eating, then defrost the food, and most of the time run to the store to get last minute ingredients. These few but very big changes, made such a big difference in my day to day life. My children were much happier in the mornings, besides not being rushed in the mornings now, they were also able to go to bed at an earlier…. After, I decided to eat breakfast. Usually I would eat breakfast with someone, but since I woke up not so early I ate alone. While eating breakfast, my media encounter would still continue. Since I was alone eating I decided to watch some YouTube videos to keep me entertained. The next media experience was when I had to find a ride going to my destination. Then I say hi to my mom really quick and start my homework.
And if it's not a lot of homework that day it will take me 2 to 3 hours, and I'll be done around 9 p. Or if I have essays, then I'll be done like 10 p. Sometimes my mom makes a break for dinner. I tell her I want to go straight through but she says I have to eat. After saying my magrib prayer. I go to my reading room and read up to 10 p. At last I go to bed at 11 p. Oh boy was I wrong! I would get off work and then go eat and be done eating at around six by the time I got my food, found a place to sit, and actually eat it.
So then I would go back up to my room and try to work on my homework in my dorm room. Well I could not do my homework in my room because my roommate would have music blasting and be talking on the phone constantly. In order for me to get all my homework done I would go into the kitchen and work on it. That was until, I saw that my parents were struggling financially and then filed for a divorce. Those words were my call to adventure. That was my motivation, that made me graduate high school and enroll myself at College of Saint Elizabeth.
Though I know that I was being watched no one came to inform me what was going on. About half an hour later the door burst open and it was the least person I want to see right now. He sat next to me and undid the binds if I promised not to run, I did and he let me go. I did not run but tried to persuade him to tell me where I am and where everything is so that I can find a way to get back home and somehow convince my mom that I am her son. I saw people going back to their work block and they were stricken with fear.
I wanted to make a difference here but there was no way I could do that. I am now writing in this journal about my story. I packed it in my bag but never had the chance to right in it. It was official; I was in the fourth, final, and worst stage of procrastination, the crisis stage. I was exhausted, just trying to finish solving all the problems, and not even checking to see if any of them were right. It seemed no matter how many times I had to suffer the consequences of procrastination, I still chose the easy way, or at least it was easy for a while, until I had virtually no time left and had to rush to get it done.
A college student has just received some very troubling news. His mother was involved in a serious accident and is now under critical condition in the hospital. The student, knowing that he never had good relations with his family in the past, does not want to go visit his mom in the hospital because he not only is very busy during the next few days, but also does not think that it is worth the time off as he is more than 1, miles away from home.
Pondering in the dormitory room for several hours, the student has many things to consider. I then somehow gather the power and decided to struggle for my livelihood and my mother. I started a job and along some teaching classes to small kids. After a hard period of one year, I was able enough to continue my studies and now my only mission is to become someone on whom my father get proud of and then I will ask him why he did all of this to us.
Coming to Job Corps made me realize a lot about myself including how much potential I have within myself. Leaving school early or just not showing up at all became a routine for me. The kids there was very disrespectful which made it hard for those who wanted to learn. In August, , I was going on with life as usual. Proficient in: Family.
